Working great

I installed the sensor but did have a problem with the unit which I contacted weather spares and received good advice to try and then if still needed help to send it back.Idid this and received a new unit which is working great.Thanks for the great service

Does the device need to be connected to the WiFi to function or can i retrieve the data offline, say once a week, and then get the info I need?

It needs to either be connected to a gateway device and WiFi (GW models) to record data online or one of the consoles which has a micro SD card installed if you wished to avoid the need for WiFi.

When installing the device does it have to be horizontal or can it be installed on a vertical post?

The WH41 can be installed at any orientation, however, it must be sheltered from the rain and the solar panel should ideally be exposed to the sun to help top-up the batteries and extend time between charges.

Can the outdoor PM2.5 monitor be connected permanently to a usb charger such that the batteries are always charged. I have an outside location in mind for the sensor that is not readily accessible however I could supply the unit constantly from a usb charger.

Yes, the WH41 sensor can be permanently connected to power via the USB cable. The device has battery overcharge protection built into it so the batteries can remain permanently inside the unit to provide additional backup power.
