The temperature and humidity output on my ECOWITT weather station array failed, so I ordered this replacement sensor. It arrived quickly and was well packed. Unfortunately, fitting the replacement hasn't made any difference - I still get no temperature or humidity readings. I don't know whether the new sensor is faulty or whether it's a problem somewhere else in the array.

I've had the humidity sensor fail in three successive sensor suites. This sensor fitted perfectly as a replacement. This is about a quarter of the price of a new suite. I think that the issue with these suites is that the radiation shield around the humidity/temperature sensor doesn't prevent rain getting blown onto the sensor in stormy conditions. High winds and heavy rain (aka horizontal rain) soak the sensor. I've constructed a cylindrical shield out of plastic card to fit around the sensor. This should prevent rain getting blown onto the sensor, and appears to allow air circulation for normal operation.

It fits and works a treat.I reviewer on here said the wire is to short,its not.The hardest bit it taking the weather station apart to get the wire plug off. You just have to take the rain gauge off completely just with 2 large headed screws.When its off I hot glued the new wire in the track to keep it in place. good luck. It was cheaper than getting a new station.

Humidity sensor on my device was giving erroneous measurements after two months of purchase. I had the array replaced but thought I would risk repairing this. Glad I did as now I have a spare array. Brought the temperatures for my old Maplin weather station. After extending the lead the sensor worked fine with no calibration needed.

I bought this sensor because the temp and humitity on my outdoor sensor array had stopped working, showing only "--" in the display.
Replacement was easy with quick connector and the display now shows temp and humidity properly.

As commented by a previous reviewer the Ecowitt wh65/WS69 sensor can be fitted to a Watson W-8681-pro11 weather station if the ribbon cable is lengthened. This is reasonably straight forward providing you are competent at soldering and weather seal the connections. Make sure that you connect each wire in the correct order. Also be careful when unplugging and plugging in the new sensor as the sockets on the pcb are not strongly attached and can rip off.
It would be great if Weather Spares ltd could supply suitable spare parts for the Watson units.

The Temperature / Humidity Sensor in my Watson W-8681-PROII Weather Station had recently failed, forum searching for a replacement hadn't provided any results, I also contacted a well known Amateur Radio Retailer, located north of the M25, who advertises Weather Stations but doesn't sell any spares for them.

I had bought a HP2551 from Weatherspares.co.uk previously, so a quick search produced the WH65/WS69 Temp / Humidity Sensor, a email to Adrian at Weatherspares, confirmed that it should work with the Watson unit.

On arrival I plugged the new WH65 into the faulty Watson Wx Station CPU board and it worked OK, when reassembling the Watson unit, I found that the WH65 Sensor 4 core ribbon cable was too short to be installed permanently, so I lengthened it using the old Ribbon cable from the U/S Watson Temp Sensor using a Soldering Iron and some heatshrink.

The Watson unit has now been boxed up and is currently on test in the Garden, prior to re-installing on my commercial site.
