The Ecowitt HP2553H weather station consists of 4 separate items, the ultrasonic anemometer, temperature, humidity, solar radiation and UV sensors, the self emptying rain gauge and large 7" TFT full colour screen making it an advanced weather station with full internet access.

The sonic anemometer sensor pack measures outdoor temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, UV level and Solar intensity.

The separate rain sensor measures rain fall and is self emptying for easy of use and now includes the heightened funnel and bird deterrent spikes.

The 7" high resolution TFT colour screen has a friendly & well-designed interface with two selectable backgrounds (dark or light). The console displays wind speed and direction, dew point, rainfall, indoor outdoor temperature and humidity, barometric pressure, moon phase, solar radiation and UV. There is also a full colour weather forecast function and you can also purchase a microSD memory card to store historical data. A 1GB card will store on average 10 years of data.

This data, along with the outdoor sensor data is uploaded to the FREE Ecowitt service via WiFi and is used to calculate rainfall rate, wind chill, dew point and heat index. All of this can be viewed on an iOS, Google App, or Ecowitt weather website in a browser.

You are not just limited to weather data on the Ecowitt weather site or App, you can share your data further afield with free access to Weather Underground, WeatherCloud and your own web server.

All of these are available to view in the App, or online via Ecowitt.net and in the 3rd party services that support this sensor type.

Very good and easy to install!

This weather station seems to be perfect for use at my cabin at 1150 m. It is very vindy, cold and icy condition in the winter time. I also bought the power adapter for heating du to the icy codition. So far I am very satisfied with the product.

Absolute brilliant weather station

This replaces a very old Davis system. The Ecowitt console is a thing of beauty, easy to setup and addictive.

Fantastic Weather Station HP 2553

A superb quality weather station for an unbelievably low price. You get everything for less than the price of a competitor's Ultrasonic Anemometer. There's no need to run a PC/PC software, or data logger to get your weather station's data on line, this does the lot. It even saves the data onto a memory card in excel format. The console is light years ahead of its main competitor.

Incredible weather station which is addictive

I bought this weather station at Christmas and really enjoy it. It is more like a small tablet in size and you can have so much information on the screen. I have added a water temperature sensor for the pond, soil moisture sensor for a hanging basket which always gets dry and have ideas for many more additions. The support from Weather Spares was excellent in helping make a decision and I am really pleased.

Incredible screen and sensors

It's when you get somethin this good you realise how many other premium brand need to improve. The screen is so clear it is like a tablet display and not fixed with digits and painted display. The whole screen can change to accommodate information - like a tablet computer.

Sensors are accurate and I went for the power extension for the sonic as its cold here in winter.

I am interested in purchasing this but have a question regarding the rainfall gauge. I understand the outdoor ultrasonic sensor suite is powered by solar energy with battery backup, but what about the rainfall gauge? Does this power from the same source? I assume they can be collocated or positioned in separate locations? Thanks

The rainfall gauge is a completely separate device so can be placed away from the anemometer etc. This is battery powered with the single AA battery expected to last at least 1 year. An Alkaline battery is recommended or Lithium for extremely low temperatures.

Does this need the protective sensor shelter, which is recommended for other Ecowitt weather stations

No, the outdoor temperature and humidity sensor in this model is housed under then sonic anemometer in its own protective shelter. The other sensor shown is for indoor temperature, humidity and pressure.

There is a capability to upload to WOW. I have set up WOW with a StationID and Station Key, but data from the Ecowitt station does not appear at WOW.

Weather Spares®

Wow is used by more than just the UK MetOffice, hence the different URL which cannot be changed. Your station ID should be completely in lowercase and include the hyphens. We recommend that customers download and use the WSView Plus App from the Goole Play or Apple App store which will allow easier configuration than using the console keypad.
Once successfully configured, the WoW icon will appear at the top of the console screen.
