Bare ISS

Arrived day after order. I had kept the small allen key so moving over the wind vane, cups and rainfall unit took only a few minutes. Up and working within 20 minutes. This is my third ISS in 20 years and the design doesn't seem to have changed. One weak point which was contributory to having to replace the last two ISS's was rusting of the battery connections. These should be stainless steel or brass to prevent rusting.

Excellent service.

Super support. I contacted by email in an evening and was amazed to receive a reply that same evening! The advice given was spot on. The part ordered was despatched promptly. My only concern was that we could not locate the all important small Allen key (perhaps it might be worth asking future clients who buy this item if they have theirs?!!)

We're glad to hear that you are once again up and running and thank you for your feedback on the Allen key. We will ensure that customers that contact us are reminded of the importance of this and also add some extra notes on the product page.

What battery does this use?

Is it compatible with the old VUE console (I'm guessing it is)?

I have an old VUE (not a VUE 2) and I am unsure if the tipping cup is hard wired in - can its wires be cut and easily attached to the the loom in this replacement? Many thanks!

Weather Spares®

The Vue uses the standard CR123A 3 volt lithium battery.

So long as the Vue console has a CE logo stamped on the product label then this is suitable for use with this. Please note this is Vantage Vue, not Vantage Pro or Pro2.

The rain tipping spoon unscrews with a single thumb screw on the underside for removal, there are no wires involved when doing this on a Vantage Vue product (there has never been a Vue 2).

Do I have to have a receiving console for the weather link live to work or will the sensor talk directly with weather link live

Weather Spares®

WeatherLink Live will talk directly to the sensor suite. and upload data to the Davis WeatherLink.com cloud service. No additional console is required.
